Queer Clothing Trade was organized as a way to serve queer folks uncomfortable or dysphoric in their current wardrobe. This event aided those in the queer community looking for clothing to better represent their gender identity.

We offered free clothing, operating on a bring-one-take-one model. All clothes were donated and lightly used, ranging from t-shirts to formalwear. With clothing waste becoming a growing problem in tangent with climate change, it was important that this event operated on a zero-waste recycling system.

The clothing was organized by size and style rather than gender. This is meant to disempower a binary association of clothing with gender identity, giving event participants the opportunity to choose clothing that feels right without influence or pressure of gender labels.

The event was open March 2nd - 6th in ArtCenter's Spotlight Gallery. Participants were welcome to come and go, freely trading clothing items at any time of day. This event was also briefly featured in the ArtCenter Student Body exhibition, March 9th - 10th.

If you would like to host another Queer Clothing Trade, please reach out through the contact page.

Euphoria is my most recent solo exhibition, with work that focuses on strengthening the queer, trans, and nonbinary community of Los Angeles. By sharing intimate yet common experiences and desires, we strengthen our bonds and help struggling individuals feel less isolated, thus building social and personal connections. Providing community resources reinforces a larger collective network, alleviating roadblocks one may face when living as a trans person in Los Angeles County.

This gallery show includes the mural Portrait of Willow Shaving, a Trans Resources Guide, Queer Clothing Trade, and photo series Recreation of Ana Mendieta's Facial Hair Transplants.
